Local scholarship awards will be presented.

This annual event will be held in the Baryames Social Hall of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.

WHO IS ELEGIBLE:

High School graduating seniors from Lansing'S Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church community.

SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNTS:

$100 to $500 with every entrant who submits an essay being assured of at least a $100 award.

HOW TO ENTER:

Submit an essay on the following topic (maximum of 500 words):

"My academic achievements, comunity and Church involvements, extra-curricular activities, and vision of my future involvement in both Church and community".

DEADLINE:

ESSAYS MUST be postmarked NOT later than April 1, 2009.

SUBMIT TO:

Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, c/o Gus Kavalaris (AHEPA Scholarship Committee)

SELECTION PROCESS:

Members of the Wolverine Chapter No. 142 will evaluate the essays and select the top papers.  No member who has a graduating son or daughter will be involved in reviewing the papers.  All applicants will be notified as soon as possible after the deadline.  Applicants will be guests of AHEPA at the AHEPA Graduate Reception which will be held on Palm Sunday, April 12, 2009, in conjunction with the AHEPA Fish Plaki Dinner.  Awards will be presented at the dinner, which will be held in the Baryames Social Hall of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, after the Divine Liturgy.
